Nice Cream

I visited Nice France in April of this year, enjoying a week along the French Riviera.  Early April was a wonderful time to visit — warm but not hot, and much smaller crowds.  In addition to Nice, we spent time in Menton, Antibes, and Villefranche.  While in Nice, we stayed in a small apartment on Rue Massena, a street filled with shops, restaurants and cafes.  I was excited to do some twilight photography with a film camera, using Cinestill film.  Wandering around one night, I shot the photo below of an ice cream shop:

 

 

I like this photo for a few reasons.  First, the pink contrasts well with the tungsten blue film, which impacts the street and edges of the photo. Second, the two people seem to be lost in the moment, not worrying about the busy street outside.  I decided on a narrow, panoramic style for this photo, eliminating distractions and focusing only on the ice cream shop.
