A Night in Amalfi

During my September 2024 trip to Italy, I spent a couple of nights wandering around Amalfi taking photos.  My plan was to shoot some black and white film of night scenes, which I’ll share in another post.  While waiting for the sun to go down, I also shot some digital photos with my Sony RX-100 digital point and shoot.

I was sitting on a bench and noticed a composition I liked. Across the road from me were buildings with bars/restaurants on the bottom and residences above. People were relaxing at the tables while a shirtless man watched from a window above.  I waited for something else to happen, and when a Fiat sped through the scene, I snapped this photo:

I used a slow shutter speed to blur the car, showing some motion instead of freezing the subject.  The photo isn’t tack sharp due to the long exposure and handholding the camera, but I think it works. I also took a nice black and white photo here, which I’ll share in a future post.
