Positano Beach Chairs and Umbrellas

On a recent trip to the Amalfi Coast of Italy, I decided to venture from my base in Atrani to Positano for a few hours.  Atrani is a short walk from Amalfi, and there are frequent ferries from Amalfi to Positano.  So, for around 10 Euro, I hopped on a ferry early one morning.  The weather during my visit was beautiful, but very hot.  Typically, around 85 degrees (or more) and very high humidity.

I had one reason for visiting — getting a few photos of the Positano beach and its umbrellas.  The blue and white umbrellas stretch along the beach, and are quite a sight.  I decided to climb up to the road above the beach, where I had a great view of the umbrellas.  I shot this photo below:

There’s something about the uniformity of the chairs and umbrellas that I find very pleasing, despite it being broken up slightly by the people lounging on the chairs.  I’ll have more beach umbrella photos to share in an upcoming post.
