Mid-Century Modern Homes of Palm Springs

In January I visited Palm Springs for the first time. I hoped to get a little sun and see some of the mid-century architecture in the greater Palm Springs area. During my week in the area, I wandered through some wonderful neighborhoods full of mid-century homes.  Here are photos of some of the homes in the Indian Canyons neighborhood of Palm Springs. These homes were built in the early-1960s, but many have been renovated over time.  Most of them were designed by noted architects and are the subjects of architecture tours.

These photos were taken on a Fuji GA645zi medium-format film camera.  This is a new camera for me (although it was purchased used and dates to 1998).  I hoped that film would provide a nice retro feel to these images, hearkening back to an earlier time.

I’ll have more Palm Springs content to share soon.  In addition to the mid-century homes, I also stayed in several mid-century motels, plus took a trip to Amboy to photograph Roy’s, a cafe and gas station located on old Route 66.
