Camogli on Film
Here are five 35mm film photos from Camogli. These were taken on a Nikon FG with Kodak film.
This photo shows the Basilica di Santa Maria Assunta. The Basilica sits on a spit of land that juts out into the sea. A religious structure has stood here since the 12th century, with the current form of the structure dating from the 1800s. Its proximity to the beach allows for a foreground of sunbathers enjoying the late summer sun.
Camogli has multiple levels, as the town climbs from the beach up the hills. The Via di Fuga is a steep staircase for pedestrians. When this photo was taken, the light was illuminating it nicely.
Along the harbor, portals through old walls provide views of the boats and pastel colored buildings.
Also along the harbor, a fishing net was covered with small hearts with inscriptions on them. A hole in the net provides a window to fishing boats in the distance.
Vintage photos of Camogli sit next to a weather beaten door.
I’ll have more Camogli photos to share in future posts!
