Sunset, flowers, volcano..

When I was in Cholula in early January, I was surprised to see that they were still growing flowers in the fields outside of town.  This area is well known for its flower production.  I wrongly assumed that the growing season wouldn’t encompass winter, as it’s very dry, but I was told they irrigate the fields.

As I was scouting for my full moon shot, I came across a field in full bloom.  I took a few photos of the setting sun with the volcano Popocatepetl and the field.  My intent was to crop the sun out, but leave the rays illuminating the flowers.  Then I thought, maybe I should leave the sun.  What do you think?  Is the photo too overpowering with the sun?  I’d appreciate your comments!

Keep the sun. That vivid light also references the power of the volcano, and the juxtaposition of the two really works for me.
