Winter Sunset in South Haven

I traveled to South Haven in March with hopes of getting a nice photo of the lighthouse.  It’s an easy three hour drive from where I live, and I like the town very much.  The sunset itself was pretty good, yet within ten minutes of the sun dipping below the horizon, the other photographers who were there left.  I decided to wait a bit longer, and was rewarded with even better light.  If there is good light in the sky, it usually pays to stay at least thirty minutes past sunset.

There was a full moon rising the next morning, so I had planned to get a nice shot of the lighthouse and moon.  Unfortunately, clouds covered the moon, so that didn’t work out.
