Parapluies

Prior to traveling to Carcassonne, France, in July 2018, I spent some time looking at recent Carcassonne photos on Instagram.  I find this a good way to research what’s going on and what photo opportunities might be present.  I noticed that one of the streets in the old town had umbrellas strung above it.  This seems to be a relatively common thing to do in Europe, though I hadn’t been anywhere where I could get a good photo.  After arriving, we walked from our hotel down to the old town, and I took a dozen or so photos of the umbrellas.  I ended up cropping out a few things, and this was what I ended up with.

I put this photo in a recent show, and sold five copies.  So I guess it’s a good one!
