Faroe Islands Sheep
One of the things we heard about the Faroes before arriving was that there were more sheep on the islands than people. After visiting, we can confirm that this is likely true. There are sheep everywhere — along the roads, in all the fields, hanging out at the clubs, etc. Ok, maybe not the last one…but still, lots of sheep. We were lucky to visit not too long after the lambs were born. They’re often a bit more friendly and curious than their parents. Of course, they make wonderfully cute pictures.
We had hiked out to the lighthouse on the Island of Kalsoy, and were hiking back to town when we saw this lamb. I bent down low to take a photo, and he walked up close to me. He had his head cocked to the side a bit as if to say “what is that?” toward the camera. This is one of my favorite photos from our trip. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
Love it!
We are finally headed there in June. I hope we’re as lucky to get such a specical sheep photo!
Good luck!
