Dawn in Guanajuato

I was in Guanajuato, Mexico in September 2017.  I like to climb to the monument to Pipila, an overlook where you can enjoy a beautiful view of the entire city.  On this particular day, I decided to get up early and climb up before the sun came up.  I was hoping for a neat picture of the sunrise, or maybe of the church with its lights on.  I didn’t end up getting much of a sunrise, and the church didn’t have its lights on — something to remember for next time (better to visit at sunset — the lights are on).

There was a nice pinkish magenta light from the sunrise, and combined with the yellow of the house and street lights, it created a beautiful view of the homes stretching up the hills.  I quickly took a few photos.  There’s something about the repetition and the color of this photo that I really like.
