Calle Del Truco, Guanajuato

Guanajuato is a wonderful city for photography.  Cobbled streets are fronted by colonial style buildings including baroque churches and centuries-old mansions.  Although some of these buildings may look imposing, they are softened with balconies and gardens of potted plants.  Calle del Truco is a typical example of a Guanajuato street, with many photogenic buildings in a variety of colors.

While I have often photographed this street during the day, on my last trip, I decided to get a very early morning shot.  This photo was taken about one hour before sunrise.  At that hour, the normally busy street has a quiet feeling, yet people are still out and about.
