Churches of Iceland

We visited Iceland in May, spending nearly a week driving the south coast and the Snæfellsnes peninsula.  I like churches, and I found the small Icelandic churches to be particularly appealing.  Many are located in isolated areas, not in towns.  The desolation combined with the beautiful countryside makes for wonderful photos.  We weren’t blessed with good weather during our trip — it rained five of seven days.  However, I did my best to get some photos of the churches we saw, here are the best ones.

Unbelievable! That grey church with the heavy sky backdrop… wow!

These photos are so good. Solitary buildings set in landscape. I don’t know what is the technical term but the way you have framed the buildings against the backdrop is good.
