Early Morning in La Paz

La Paz, Bolivia is a really busy, frenetic place.  The streets are full of people, buses, cars, and it’s rarely quiet — even late at night.  However, I have often found that very early the morning — around sunrise — even busy cities can be quiet.  I had wanted to take some photos of the city as it woke up, and so one morning I walked the centro of the city, taking photos as I went.

Calle Jaen is one of La Paz’s most well-preserved colonial streets, with homes dating to the 18th century.  The street is normally very busy, but early in the morning, it was quiet.

The early morning walk is often the best one of the day.

  2. I’m loving your travel photographs! You gotta love all those wires hanging from all the walls in your photos! I get the same thing in my photos. Great job explaining your photos.
