Potosi’s Nissan Buses

When visiting Bolivia in September 2016, I spent a couple of days in Potosi, one of Bolivia’s oldest and most historic cities.  When visiting other countries, I’ve always been fascinated by public transportation — be it the trains in Europe, the chicken buses in Guatemala, or the Metro in Mexico City.  In Potosi, the most common public transportation seemed to be small Nissan buses.  The Nissan Civilian has been produced since the late-1950s, though these buses seemed to be relatively new, as opposed to LaPaz’s old Dodge buses.  In various colors and configurations, they were all over Potosi.  Here are some photos of them in action!
